Writing Poetry in Pen

It’s so hard writing poetry in pen
A gun to the head,
Or flipping an omelette blind balancing against gusts of wind
Everywhere.
Or saying I Love You for the first
Last
Time.

It takes the courage of 10 year old skaters and mind melders or
Shackleton frozen against panes of glass or
A hole dug for planting or
A dog eyeing the top of fence
(lots of hope there)
The moon breaking through,
I finally reach for my pencil.

It’s so hard writing poetry in pen.
